Policies

The admissions office will only accept and process a fully completed application package. The application form must be filled out accordingly in addition to a thorough aptitude test. Application may be done online or printed out, filled and submitted to our administrative office. Proof of registration will be made available after confirmation of fee payment either partially or fully.

Refund Policy

At Riohs College of Design, we understand that circumstances beyond the control of students may lead to withdrawal or cancellation of admission.

Fees paid to Riohs College of Design shall not be refundable. Refunds may only apply to students who make advance payments and communicate to the Administrator with a written letter of their intentions of not continuing with their admission.

Note

  • Any student who needs a special payment plan must submit a letter to the Administrator after 7 days upon receiving their admission offer for consideration and approval.
  • An administrative fee is duly included in the fees paid, hence the initial reimbursement subtractions.
  • Once payment is made by a student, a seat is reserved and all resources are prepared to welcome the student.
  • Student withdrawal however means that an equally qualified student would have been denied an opportunity. Thus, Riohs College of Design would be at a loss since it would not be able to replace a student who has requested to withdraw from the course.
  • All refunds will be paid via cheque.
  • If a student is enrolled for more than 10+ days, we will not make any refunds.

Medical Grounds

In a circumstance where due to a genuine reason (well communicated to Management with evidence) a student is unable to continue a particular session due to ill health after the start of a new class session. Therefore he/she will be afforded the opportunity to:

  • Should ill health last for one week after the start of a new class session, student shall be offered some assistance service to catch up with colleagues. The student should have provided a medical note and letter to the Administrator.
  • Should ailment last between 2 weeks to 3 weeks after the start of a new class session, the student shall be offered the opportunity to start a new session with the guarantee of the payment of at least 65% of full stream fees as may be applicable for new batch class. If the student is in good shape to continue with class, the opportunity will be provided.
  • Should ill health hinder the student from attending lessons for a maximum of 4 weeks after the start of a new class session, they shall be afforded a 30% refund of the original fee payment.
  • Absence due to ailment beyond the fourth week after the start of a new class session will guarantee a 0% refund of the original fee payment.

Gross Misconduct

In circumstances where a student’s behavior or conduct is not in tandem with the tenets of Riohs, Management shall in extreme circumstances require such a student to withdraw from the course. In this circumstance, no refunds shall be made to such a student.

Absenteeism and Tardiness

It is the policy of Riohs that once a student signs up for a particular stream, all other unforeseen events/activities have been taken into consideration. Hence absence from class is not an option. A student who constantly absences himself/herself for up to one week (4 days) is red-flagged and assumed to have quit the course. In all such cases, management will withdraw the student from the course. The student shall not be entitled to any refunds.

With 6 months to master a broad range of topics in fashion design and illustration, Our course is designed to follow rigorous instructions and demanding assignment schedules.

Potential students are therefore strongly advised to be ready to commit fully to a highly demanding course.

We especially lookout for individuals who are passionate about fashion, self-motivated, and willing to learn. While we remain committed to providing needed direction, we expect our students to possess high levels of emotional maturity and intelligence to be able to produce results in a challenging and extremely competitive environment.

In order to guarantee admission, a prospective student will have to fulfill the following:

  • Should be aged between 15 to 50 years.
  • Provide proof of qualification in all circumstances (WASSCE as a minimum).
  • Show determination to undertake the course, undertake the aptitude test and qualify.
  • Should be ready to learn under strict conditions in terms of complying with the corporate culture of the atelier. (Kindly refer to the corporate culture guide)
  • In addition, prospective students must have clean records both in terms of behavior and general posture.

Ghanaian/Local Students – GHc7,000

Non Ghanaians/Foreign Students – $1,500

Fee Payment Plan Structure

The institution provides a payment plan to help students who can not make an outright full payment in order to join the course. Such persons must speak to the Administrator for instructions on what to do to access a plan. Below is a breakdown of the installment plan:

The Management has arranged the payment plan to support students and hence shall require that agreed timelines are honored appropriately. Failed attempts to redeem fees after several requests may lead to the student not being allowed by Management to participate in class activities.

Please note that regarding the fees in dollars, the Cedi equivalent can be paid using the current exchange rates. Kindly speak to the College Administrator for guidance.

NB- Riohs College of Design reserves the right to revise fees without notice to the student.

Each student will be required to fulfill the following in order to guarantee successful graduation:

  • Complete the entire course which consists of 6 months of intensive training.
  • Participate in a graduate internship program at the atelier for a further 3 months.
  • Complete all project works and submit them on time.

Fee:

Students will be required to budget Ghc1500.00 – Ghc2000.00 towards their graduation. (This fee is subject to change)

Note:

Graduation is compulsory for all students. Students shall be informed in advance to prepare for the payment of their fees. This fee is not refundable once paid.
